From our beach resort we journey toward Ratchburi
province stopping enroute at a home - made sugar
cane factory - a major crop grown and harvested in
these parts. On arrival at Damnern Saduak, we board
our boat for a fascinating cruise trough the canals
(Klong) leading to the market. Catch a glimpse here
teetering on the major selling point everyday.
Driving back to explore Petchburi, the impressive
summer residence "Khoa Wang" on the hillside, built
by King Mongkut (Rama IV) in the last century. As
top here will afoord to visit the palace and enjoy a
fine vista of the town, and surrounding rice fields.
Siam Cultural Park. The Siam
Cultural Park Project was Initiated in the year 1997
with the aim of creating a peaceful place for the
general public to rest their minds and find a moment
for quiett reflection in today's busy world. At the
same time, Siam cultural Park also intends to foster
and promote the value of art, culture, and the
neautiful way of life of Buddhist society and to
pass on the magnificent Thai heritage to the
following generations. A must see.
Wat Pa Luangta Bua Yannasampanno, Tiger
Temple the wildlife heaven Kanchanaburi. Was established by the Abbot Phra Acharn
Phusit (Chan) Kanthitharo in 1994 by order of his
teacher. Since its opening Wat Pa Luangta Bua gained
a reputation as a wildlife sanctuary. It started as
a injured jungle. The first tiger cub arrived in the
monastery in Feb 1999. It was a female cub of
Indonchinese tiger subspecies. Now a countless
number if wild life boars find shelter in the
monastery. The forest monastery focusus on the
practising meditation. There is accomodation for
those who interested in meditation, and wish to stay
within the temple.
